| Health Alert! California Proposition 65 - A Big Threat To All Vitamin Products. It Can Affect Everyone!
By the Dr. Rath Education Services Team
April 14, 2008
The California's Office of Environmental Health Hazard Assessment (OEHHA) is proposing to limit the potency of vitamin-and-mineral supplements under California's Proposition 65 as cancer-causing agents. According to this proposition all vitamin-and-mineral dietary supplements with above-RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) potencies would be essentially classified as cancer-causing agents unless proven otherwise. For instance, natural progesterone is listed by Prop 65 as a cancer-causing agent, when in fact it helps counteract the carcinogenic effects of estrogen. This natural progesterone is a safe and healthy alternative to hormone-replacement therapy for women. However, many women have been scared away from this natural product and its health benefits by the Prop 65 warnings listed on the product’s label. California Proposition 65 is a BIG threat to all vitamins and vitamin freedom. We, at Dr. Rath’s - the research vitamin company that was on the forefront against Codex Allimentarius and launched many other health initiatives to protect vitamin freedom- are calling for prompt actions against Proposition 65 and stand united with NHF. If you are a vitamin consumer, health food store owner and/or a member or any other interested party sign on-line petition opposing this very harmful Proposition 65.
